Alex Lind
Alex Lind was raised in San Antonio. Alex has three wonderful children and a loving wife. He works for Red McCombs and has been in the business for 17 years. Alex has a passion and love for his family and understands the sacrifice he will make in leaving them while he rides across the state.
His personal reason for making this ride is to honor his father (a 20 year veteran of the United States Air Force), and bring more publicity/financial attention to the fine young men and women who have fought and risk everything for our country.
Curtis C. Kennedy
Curtis was raised in Northern California and retired from the United States Army as Sergeant First Class and Disabled Veteran Operation Desert Storm. Curtis is an Assistant Golf Professional at the Club at Sonterra. He has been part of the Golf industry for 11 years and started cycling over 3 years ago.
He lists as his heroes, all active duty military who have carried the torch of service for our nation.
Jerry W Condra, Jr.
Jerry grew up in Kaufman, Texas and currently works as a Microsoft field engineer. He has been in the IT industry for over 12 years.
Jerry started cycling in 2002 and lists one his personal accomplishments as completing the MS150/Bike to the Beach. Jerry sees this ride as a challenge that motivates him personally since he is a disabled veteran and can identify from personal experience what families and veterans go through coming back to civilian life after the military with a disability. He has been married for over 15 years and has 4 children.
Jerry feels his personal relationships with men and women in the military have been his greatest inspiration, especially those that made the ultimate sacrifice or have come home injured.
Kenneth Holder- Ride Director/Team Captain
Kenneth was raised in San Antonio. He currently is the Director of Collections for AES. He started riding in 1991 and for several years raced in San Antonio.
Kenneth has 5 children and has been married for 11 years. He credits his children and his marriage as the proudest things he values in his life. He serves on the Board at the YMCA and coaches his children’s teams.
“All veterans who have served inspired me for this ride. My dad served in Vietnam but never spoke of his time there. Only after his death did I learn some of the horrific things he witnessed. He retired from BAMC after 25 years of service and was buried with full military honors at Fort Sam Houston”
Neal Juern
Neal grew up in Boerne, Texas. He currently is a partner with AES Companies and has worked in the IT industry for over 18 years. Neal started cycling in August of 2010 after helping to form the idea of a benefit ride for the Wounded Warrior Project. Neal has been married for over 19 years and has two children. Neal credits his wife Debbie for many of the blessings in his life and enjoys being involved with his children’s activities.
“I think all of us probably know a Veteran or an active duty soldier that has inspired us. My uncle was a POW of the Korean War and helped to free fellow soldiers & received the Medal of Honor for his service. We all owe so much to our military men and women for being the defenders of our freedom. This ride means me personally honoring them and especially for those warriors who have come home wounded.”
Randy Block
Randy Block was born in Chicago. He is Retired Military after serving in the Army for 20 years. He feels his best job he had in the Army was a three year successful tour as a Drill Sergeant. Randy began cycling about 4 years ago. He credits his success as a senior golf professional and participating in extreme sports for his passion to make this ride a success.
Randy, his wife and children all have served or are currently serving in the military. Randy feels strongly about completing this event for them and all the men and women in the military serving.
Vidal Carvajal
Vidal Carvajal Jr. age 51, retired with medical and honorable discharge from the military in April of 2006. Raised with four sisters, Vidal has lived all over the world, he calls himself a military brat. But he does call San Antonio home.
Vidal received a degree in Aviation Management and an associate degree from Central Texas College. In the Military, he attended Texas Christian University, College of the Air Force, The University of Maryland, Central Texas College and Franklin University.
Randy Scussel
Randy was raised in Michigan. He moved to Texas and has been in numerous 100 mile bicycle rides which will help with this challenge.
Randy graduated from Auburn University and currently works at Baptist Health System. He is a tri-athlete and is very active at Community Bible Church of San Antonio.
He has 2 children and states his hero is his father, Richard Clifford Scussel who served in the Korean War and was a Airborne Ranger LT in the Army.
Ralph Plaza
Ralph Plaza was born in Brooklyn, New York. Raised in Puerto Rico for most his life he decided to enlist in the US Army in 1982. In 2003 after 21 years of service retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. Since 2003 Ralph Plaza is a real-estate Agent Broker with Re/max North San Antonio.
Recently Ralph just celebrated his 27 year married with his wife Diana in wish they have an Autistic Adult Daughter and a Steele HS Senior son that is already admitted to continue his education at Texas University this coming August.
Ralph had numerous visits to the Warrior and Support Family Center at Fort Sam Houston and provided baked pastries, books and videos. Always leave with a tough reminder…God Bless our Troops!
Mark Robinson
Mark was born in Illinois and currently works for U. S. Army for the past 6 years.
Mark started riding in mid 80′s doing Triathlons’ then shifted strictly to bikes after a few years. Raced for a small club in in Texas for about 10 years. Worked in the Bicycle industry for about 11 years as a Bike shop employee, Manager, mechanic and even built a few frames when steel was real. Mark is married with 3 boys.
Working for the Army Mark sees and interfaces with allot of soldiers which has inspired him to join the ride.
Lorenzo Lopez
Lorenzo was born in Agana Heights, Guam but raised in Converse, Texas. Lorenzo currently is a freelance Videographer/Cameraman Filmmaker he has worked in the news business for 10 years. Overall he has over 14 yrs of camera/editing experience.
I support the cause because my father served in the Air Force 24 years. I also accept the challenge of the ride. The Ride Texas event will be his longest and most challenging ride.
Lorenzo credits all veterans who have sacrificed life and limb for our freedom with his willingness to take on this challenge.

Just wanted to say thanks for your support and dedication to a cause that you believe in. I have been stationed here in ft. Sam Houston for just over a year. I thought being an infantryman I had a snowballs chance in hell of getting stationed here.
